Looking back through these pictures, all I can see is joy. Not only joy in our team but joy in the Haitian community we worked with throughout the week. That seemed to be a reoccurring theme in our conversations debriefing our days: joy. Throughout our week we taught about 60 preschoolers ages 3-5 in a three bedroom house in the mornings, and did construction/community work/food distribution in the afternoons and evenings. We spent time with the church we partnered with, and we attended their church services. This was one of my favorite parts! Our group leaders, Brian and Rudy, were absolutely incredible in helping us throughout the week. We miss them already!
We told Rudy he needs to take up a modeling career.
Our leader, Brian!
Our bus driver took us around the island one free afternoon, and we stopped at a local fruit stand!
Ed and I split a fresh pineapple. We ate the entire thing before we even got back on the bus!
I think this was Lexie's reaction after seeing a stray dog :')
This is the door leading to our showers outdoors!
We moved this huge pile of rocks/gravel/rubble, and the kids came to help out after they got home from school!
The church had a roof that was a frequent hang out spot for all of us!
We had a beach evening!
Mr. T, our bus driver, showed us how to feed the birds at the beach
Joy was a reoccurring theme this week, but so was dabbing.
Mr. T looking as majestic as ever
This is the preschool we taught at every morning!
Again, JOY.
Destiny could say every Old Testament book of the Bible and knew what noise every single animal makes. She also loved coloring purple lip gloss on Jesus when it was coloring time.
The kids loved to play with the water when we went outside which was probably a no no, but look how cute they were!
This is our table that we ate around for every single meal!
Monica and I matched (oops)
Ryan and Cade matched too
On the last evening in Nassau, we watched the sunset over the water.
Pals enjoying the beautiful sunset
Mr. and Mrs. T are some of the most incredible people I have ever met.
