This Spring Break, I went on a mission trip to Guatemala with twelve of my friends. I had been to Guatemala once before last summer, so I was incredibly excited to be back!! I am happily scared because I have fallen more and more in love with this country. I don't know what that means for me, but I am willing to listen to what God has in store next! The people there demonstrate love and joy so well, and they do everything whole heartedly. They push me to surrender my life daily to glorify God and to do it joyfully with all of my heart. One evening before we did homeless ministry, we went to the local church's prayer service. Toward the end of the service, the people of the congregation gathered around our mission team, held hands, and all prayed out loud. Of course it was in Spanish, but my friends that can speak Spanish were able to pick out what they were praying for. They were able to hear them pray for our families, our churches, our school, our friends, our studies, and many other things. There weren't many dry eyes on our team during that time. What a powerful experience. I was also so happy to be able to grow closer to the twelve other girls I was with. We all experienced so much together in just one short week, and I would not trade it for anything!!! We all talk to each other in Spanish now. It's fun.
